The house was completely bare, the musty stink of stagnant air filled it and the thin light of early dawn barely penetrated past the thick curtains. We moved to the front of home so that I could look out the windows without being seen. Traffic was light, but steady, car after unremarkable car drifted past the bus stop, none of them even slowing down. I know Albert was coming for us and I doubted we were lucky enough for his goons to not notice the taxi company or the cab number. They would be hot on our trail soon enough.
