100-Word Challenge, Day 122

The impact spun me around and slammed me into a seat.  I had been hurt before, but nothing like this.  I couldn’t catch my breath or focus, all I could do as moan. “Oh God,” I whispered. I rolled myself over and looked up to see the short man standing over me, the tall man behind him, his face splattered with gore.

“You little shit. I should kill you right here and make my life easier.”  There was menace in his eyes and I believe he would do it, but something was holding him back.

“What’s stopping you jackass?”
