100-Word Challenge, Day 170

The corridor Hagen followed him down was not made by the hands of men and would not be seen by their eyes even if they managed to keep the lights on. It was nearly as old as the subway itself, but made by means considerably more ancient. The tunnel worked much like the portal to his office, only it used power considerably more efficiently at the cost of having to walk more.

To each his own was all Hagen could think. He had considerably more power at his disposal and so he did not hesitate to use it. The Orpheans had a power of their own, but transportation magic was not one of their strong points.
