“What plans? Why me?” I ask as I slump back onto my makeshift bed.
“Honestly, I am not sure,” she says as she sits beside me. “But, you should take comfort in knowing you are not alone in whatever you will face.” I look at her, glad to know that I will have her assistance. “Not me,” she says and the moment of hope is gone, “nor my people.
