I know it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I thought I would share a little something that I worked on today. This is very rough, so be kind, but it is from the next book in the Armageddon Angels series. Tell me what you think. Motivate me to get this beast finished.

Apocalypse Undone Sneak Peak

After feeling a little inspired today, I decided it was time to share a little snippet from Apocalypse Undone, the upcoming sequel to my first book, Apocalypse Rising. Hopefully it wets your appetites a little, because the end is coming soon.

Apocalypse Undone

The city stretched out below Kohaku and he watched the cars wind their way through the brightly lit streets. When he focused his attention he could even make out the people on the sidewalks as they went to the restaurants and bars that occupied the bottom floors of so many of the buildings. “It really is beautiful from up here,” he said. He looked up at Hitaratsu Tower, and the window on the corner where his office had been. “I never really paid much attention when I had spent every day above it all. This whole city was my playground, or so I thought.”

“A fall from grace can change your perspective,” Justin said. “My time away from the Throne has made me see things in a way that I never could have imagined.” Continue reading “Apocalypse Undone Sneak Peak”

100-Word Challenge, Day 329

“Fools!” Vandal shouts before he waves his arms, and an unseen force grabs Julius and slams him into the wall. A sickening crunch and a smear of brilliant crimson on the cavern’s bricks tell me that Julius is no more. His life snuffed from existence, denied immortality by a human wizard and the Creator who denies his elder children their place in heaven.

The cavern explodes in violence as elves and goblins rejoin the battle. The howls of goblins and the incantations of the elves battle each other, adding to the discord of war. The fighting swirls around the wizard Vandal and I as our wills battle in the ether.

100-Day Challenge, Day 319

The corpses of goblins pile up around me yet they continue to come. I am a boulder in the middle of a river and I do little more than disrupt the flow of enemies as they rush past. I had not expected so many. I hope the elves are able to hold their own. I have never fought against or beside and elf before, but I remember hearing that they could be fierce opponents. I say a little prayer asking that it be true.

Filthy goblin blades nick and cut me, slowly sapping my strength as I fight the endless mass. I dispatch another pair before I step on a blood slick arm and stumble backwards into the mound of corpses. There is barely a pause before the others pounce on me.

100-Day Challenge, Day 318

A horde of short, grey skinned humanoids exploded from the tunnel with a chorus of shrieks and screams. Goblins. I detest the foul things.

I step from my cover and swing the elf forged blade with ease. It slices clean through the goblin closest to me, leaving his bifurcated corpse twitching at my feet. I have no time to be pleased with my work or the brilliance of the blade. The first is replaced by a dozen more and I must focus all of my thought and effort on the fight. The more I kill the more my past comes back to me. Long forgotten skills are awakened and goblins die by the score for it.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

I hear claws on concrete moving through the tunnels fast. The tunnel is shrouded in darkness and fog, hiding what comes my way. The noise grows louder by the second until it is a roar of clicking and scratching that threatens to overwhelm me. I stay loose, ready to lunge the moment the enemy makes an appearance. I had not planned on facing more than a handful of summoned or conjured creatures. Thoughts of being overwhelmed flash through my mind and are quickly banished. I will survive this or I will not. Worrying only assists my enemies and I would give them nothing but death.
